Caddo Kai Karate was founded by Brice Anthony in Jan. 2022 and opened the first karate dojo in Caddo Mills, TX on October 1, 2022. The vision was clear – to create a space where students of all ages and backgrounds could discover the profound benefits of martial arts training. With a deep-rooted belief in the values of discipline, respect, and self-improvement. We set out to build not only a school, but a community.

As the years unfold, our reputation grows, and so does our family of karateka. Together we celebrate countless milestones, from the first colored belt earned to the unforgettable victories in tournaments. We invite you to join us on this remarkable journey!

“Don’t forgot where you come from. But never lose sight of where you are going”

We want to take you a step back in time and journey with us to the humble beginnings of our company. Close your eyes and envision a small, senior center, filled with dreams, determination, and the burning desire to make a difference. It was here that our founders, armed with nothing but passion and a vision, laid the foundation for what would become a remarkable story. As we revisit those early days, we invite you to witness how far we have some from those modest origins.

Caddo Kai Karate did not always have their own dojo, we shared our space with the most unlikely karate partners you can imagine – a lively group of senior citizens! Yes, that’s right, as our energetic karate classes took place during the afternoons, the senior citizens’ activities occupied the mornings.

It was a humorous dance of schedules, where the dojo transformed from a tranquil gathering sport for seniors enjoying their morning coffee and conversations into a bustling arena of karate techniques and spirited shouts. While our karate students couldn’t directly learn the secret martial arts techniques of the elderly, the worlds of karate a senior living peacefully co-existed (most of the time), leaving us with amusing memories of the unconventional duo that shared the same space.

Our early space may not have been the most ideal, with its cramped quarters and sauna-like conditions that our bonds grew stronger, and our spirits soared higher. We learned to adapt, to make the most of what we had, and to appreciate the journey rather than fixate on the surroundings. We hosted our first belt test on March 20, 2022. The first belt test serves as a true test of our student’s abilities, both physically and mentally. It’s a significant milestone in their martial arts journey, often the most challenging for our students to overcome.

We had a full house on that day; friends, family, and our biggest supporters traveled from all over Texas to attend our first belt ceremony. All of our white belts went up to receive their gold belt and no one was more nervous than head sensei Brice Anthony. Being able to watch the kids gain their confidence as they put their skills to the test.  That humble space, with all its flaws, became the crucible that forged our character and prepared us from the successes that awaited us. Today, as we stand in our new, spacious dojo, we carry with us the lessons learned from that small room, forever grateful for how it nurtured and propelled us to where we are now

It wasn’t long until Caddo Kai grew that we needed our own space. It was only 8 months later that Brice Anthony open the first karate dojo in Caddo Mills, Tx on October 1, 2022. It was definitely a team effort to transform this building into a functional dojo. Most of our equipment and items were donated by our karate supporters and parents; the mirrors, bleachers, a/c system, and many more things and we thank you all for your endless support. We could not do this without all of you for not only believing in us, but believing in our students to thrive at Caddo Kai Karate.

Since October 2022, Caddo Kai dojo has been making its mark on the map and gaining a name for its self. Not only in the Caddo Mills community, but all across Texas at tournaments. We have become fierce competitor’s on the mat first participating in the Bamboo League, AOK, TKO, and other surrounding competitions.

Today, our demo team has grown to 5 members, performing at local school and community events in Caddo Mills, TX. our original white belts will be going up for their 4th degree brown belt in Dec. 2023 and Christian Anthony will be the first student from Caddo Kai Karate to received his black belt also in Dec. 2023.
